Vienna-based engineering company, Starlinger viscotec, will showcase the deCON 20decontamination dryer at the plastics and rubber industries exhibition, Plast 2015, in Milan, Italy, on 5-9 May.
The dryer processes flakes and recycled pellets from PET and HDPE for use in food grade packaging. The deCON 20 has the ability to process input material in different forms, e.g. pellets, flakes and skeleton waste, simultaneously. The process is compliant with the relevant FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) and EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) standards, so the material can be used directly for the production of food grade packaging.
The new recycling line recoSTAR dynamic, launched by Starlinger at the end of March, is characterised by a very energy-efficient production process as well as a high grade of automation. This ensures reliable and constant production, higher output, and great flexibility with input materials. The energy efficient design of the new machine concept is highlighted with the ‘rECO’ stamp.
By using motors with the best efficiency ratings, energy recovery systems in various process steps as well as infrared heating, energy consumption and CO2 emissions are reduced significantly. The recoSTAR dynamic recycling line processes industrial and post-consumer plastic scrap and produces high-quality re-granulate that can be used in a wide range of applications.
Starlinger supplies machinery and complete lines for woven plastic bag production and PET recycling and refinement; it has production sites in Weissenbach and St. Martin, Austria, as well as Taicang, China, and branches in many other countries across the world.
The company will be at Plast 2015 next month – Hall 15, booth C6.
