New label solution at interpack 2017

Schreiner MediPharm, a provider of pharmaceutical labelling solutions based in Germany, will introduce a marking solution for syringes at interpack (Hall 7A, booth B02), May 4-10 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The new Pharma-Multi-Act is a particularly user-friendly label offering reliable, irreversible first-opening indication that can include various additional security and indicator functionalities.

Pharma-Multi-Act features a label-integrated perforated tab that extends onto the syringe cap. Upon opening the cap with a simple flick of the wrist, the marking label’s first-opening indication is automatically triggered along the perforation. Here, an added benefit is ease of use: the label and container are opened simultaneously, without an extra step (or hand) for seal removal.

In many cases, it also is necessary to document the administered medicine in a patient’s file or vaccination card. Schreiner MediPharm’s Pharma-Multi-Act addresses this need as well.

In the process of opening Pharma-Multi-Act, a readily accessible, detachable documentation label is exposed on the cap, which can easily be peeled off, even with gloves. The area underneath the detachable label can be used as an indicator field for various functions, such as initially covert warning messages, additional security/authentication features, an integrated NFC chip for interactive applications, or a temperature or UV indicator activated upon the label’s opening.

“Syringes require special tamper protection solutions that can be activated fast and effectively without affecting the injection process,” said Gene Dul, president of Schreiner MediPharm U.S. “The fewer moves needed and the simpler the activation, the better. The new Pharma-Multi-Act label provides heightened ease of use, ample documentation options, and the possibility of incorporated value-added features that assist both healthcare professionals and patients.”
