Presstek unveils LED UV technology for the 34DI Digital Offset Press at IPEX
Presstek, LLC, one of the leading providers of eco-friendly printing solutions, is debuting the Presstek 34DI ECO-UV digital offset press at IPEX. The press’ integrated LED-UV technology — branded ECO-UV — is energy efficient, generates very little heat and produces no ozone.
Colours pop with the environmentally-friendly technology that instantly cures ink to any substrate, including synthetic paper, plastic, vinyl, foil-laminated sheets, card or label stock, or paperboard. The latest UV advancement, combined with Presstek’s chemistry-free on-press imaging technology, accelerates overall turnaround and increases a printer’s range of products to include packaging, gift cards, loyalty cards, hang tags, labels and tickets.
IPEX visitors can experience the Presstek 34DI ECO-UV digital offset press live at stand B375 until November 3, at the NEC in Birmingham, England. Presstek is demonstrating the ease and speed at which the ECO-UV model can print on plastic PVC, metallic paper, board, and uncoated stock.
“Presstek’s ECO-UV technology is great news for existing 34DI customers looking to expand their capability without investing in a new press,” comments Peter Swann, DI sales manager, UK Region, Presstek LLC. “Instant drying accelerates overall job turnaround time, and the environmental benefits are a tremendous value to our customers.”
The high precision 34DI ECO-UV DI waterless press provides rich, vibrant colours, while eliminating ink-spread and absorption making it very easy to print on non-porous stocks. The ECO-UV technology boosts productivity by providing instantly dried substrates, eliminating sheet marking or offsetting. Sheets can move immediately to finishing without delay. Additionally, the technology offers lower energy consumption than standard UV and does not release VOCs.
Available as a complete DI press system or ECO-UV kit only, Presstek can economically retrofit current 34DI presses with the ECO-UV technology, adding value to the DI press. The on-site retrofit process is simple and maintains the compact physical footprint of a standard 34DI digital offset press.
