Parkside investment plans boosted by new operations director

Speciality packaging manufacturer, Parkside, has appointed a new UK operations director as the company continues to make significant investments in its sites in the UK and Asia.

Alex Henderson is an experienced general manager and has worked in the print industry for more than 30 years, having previously been employed by Trinity Mirror Printing, News International Newspapers and Smurfit Newspress.

“I am looking forward to helping the business achieve its commercial objectives,” he said. “Parkside has a tremendous growth strategy in place and is launching some fantastic new products to customers. I am excited about the prospect of using my skills and experience to help deliver business improvements and further our adoption and development of industry best practice.”

Henderson’s new role will see him manage the transfer of a printing press from the company’s UK site in Normanton, West Yorkshire, to Parkside’s Malaysian operations and the installation of a new press at the UK site in a few months’ time.

The UK manufacturing site is also undergoing a programme of renovation and refurbishment that he is responsible for overseeing.
