New tesa tape enhances the performance of mounting applications

tesa has introduced a new double sided tape for outdoor mounting applications that offers high ultimate adhesion to deliver reliable bonding performance in the most demanding of environments.

tesa 62510 is 1mm thick and has a highly conformable PE foam backing, designed to allow ease of application while providing a perfect fit on a wide range of mounting applications, such as for trims and extruded profiles, point of sale and display.

Combining an elongation at break of 180 per cent with a tensile strength of 10 N/cm, the tape’s high strength creates a durable bond that significantly reduces the chances of tearing or breakage during application.

The tackified acrylic adhesive, with its UV, water and ageing resistance as well as excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates including steel, ABS, aluminium, PET, PVC and so on, makes it particularly well suited to tough outdoor applications across a diverse range of mounting operations.

Tests conducted by TÜV Rheinland confirmed tesa 62510’s long-term adhesion performance after IEC 61215 climate tests and an 85˚C temperature resistance.
