Mono buys defunct Bluebird

AUTOMATIC WRAPPING machine and L-sealers manufacturer Bluebird Packaging Machines has been acquired by UK bakery and food service equipment manufacturer, Mono Equipment following the announcement of the company’s impending liquidation.

Andrew Jones, managing director at Mono Equipment states: “When I heard Bluebird was going into liquidation, the decision to buy the rights to manufacture its established product range and to use the Bluebird badge was an easy one to make. We have sold Bluebird equipment for many years and it fits perfectly into our own extensive product portfolio. All our customers, including many of the UK’s large supermarkets chains, are loyal to the Bluebird brand and have complete faith in the quality and reliability of its products; it would have been a great loss to see such a highly respected brand fade into obscurity.

Initially, Mono will manufacture Bluebird’s Wren, the Robin and the Falcon sealers although it has bought the exclusive rights to manufacture Bluebird’s product range and to continue to use the Bluebird name.

Mono Equipment has already launched a number of new products this year including the Epsilon Tabletop Confectionery Depositor, a range of Eco-Touch energy-efficient convection ovens and a new Fusion bread plant.
