Luminer Adds to Sales Executive Team

Luminer, a labeling solutions provider specializing in extended content labels (ECLs) for pharmaceutical ethical and OTC packaging, clinical trials and various other narrow web applications for the cosmetics, F&B and chemicals sectors, has hired Mike Barrett as it newest Sales Executive.

Barrett brings a versatile sales background to the Luminer team, including several years in the packaging and labels sectors.

Barrett’s wide-ranging purview in his new role reflects Luminer’s diverse portfolio of labeling solutions. His responsibilities include driving growth in Luminer’s legacy markets – most prominently extended content labels – as well as a brand-broadening expansion into new niches. Barrett also will help strengthen internal processes, including conducting in-depth market research and helping to incorporate streamlined customer relationship management platforms.

Barrett joins the company amid a growth period: Earlier this year, Luminer incorporated a new state-of-the-art ECL production line at its primary manufacturing facility in Lakewood, NJ. Highlighted by a custom engineered modular printing, converting, onserting servo platform, the new infrastructure further increases Luminer’s already substantial capacity, and yields additional benefits like faster throughput speeds and heightened booklet placement precision. Notably, Luminer’s ECL business has seen a significant uptick given the sudden prioritization of drugs to combat coronavirus symptoms, as well as the search for an effective vaccine; here, the combination of small containers with extensive printing needs have made ECLs particularly sought-after.

Before joining Luminer, Barrett held a sales role for labeling solutions provider The Kennedy Group. His other packaging-related experience includes stints with Vineland Packaging Corporation and Zacros America.

Barrett also will help expand Luminer’s footprint in several other industries, including OTC pharma, food & beverage, cosmetics and chemicals applications.

“Mike joins the team at an exciting time, on the heels of our recent manufacturing facility expansion and forward-looking infrastructure investment that has expanded both the company’s capabilities and overall capacity,” said Tom Spina, President & CEO of Luminer. “Given his track record in the packaging and labels sector, he will be a valuable asset as we continue to evolve along with the industries we serve.”

Barrett earned a degree in Business Communications from West Virginia University. He resides in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
