Yes it is hard to believe but its true this turret slitter is only £110K ex-works for the standard machine, but what in the “standard machine” I hear you ask. The machine is supplied as a two part section with an overhead web path for ergonomic access and operation.

The unwind section: Generally consist of a shaft-less pick up from the floor, automatic edge guider, automatic dancer tension control system. Also conveniently located within this section is the vacuum splice table. A pivoting arm control station is supplied with joy stick controls for operation of the lifting arms, buttons for machine speed, splice table clamps, and stop and E-Stop. From here the material is transported overhead into the rewinding section.

Rewind section: Located within this section is the in-feed rollers, web spreading, slitting, and of the turret rewinding section. Web spreading roller prior to the driven in-feed pull rollers and nip, slitting stations with both razor or shear slitting facility and the dual turret rewinds incorporation 4 x differential winding shafts, and full width rubber lay-on rollers. So you only need to add are the type and number of slitting knives required and you are up and running!

This machine is a modular design and has many additional function and features which can be added if required, such as finished roll ejection, automatic core positioning, automatic slitting, and automatic off-loading.

COMPOSITION OF THE MACHINE

Machine is equipped with two (2) unwinds and one (1) rewind for reels having a diameter up to 600 mm.

No1 Unwind unit is located directly behind the coating unit on the main structure.

No2 Unwind and the rewind unit are located on opposite sides of the machine structure. The machine is equipped with manual splicing but the reels can be changed easily. The unwinds are equipped with air cooled pneumatic brakes and rewind is equipped with an AC motor controlled by digital vector drive. Unwind tension is controlled by load cell roller. The rewind section also incorporates the lay on roller assembly controlled via pneumatic cylinders.

EXHAUST HOODS

The exhaust hood is for vapor removal from the coating unit and generally consists of:

Vertical sliding protection – Full side window which closes the coating unit at the front side – Suction fan located on the upper structure

DRYING TUNNEL

Machine is equipped with a drying tunnel for the solvent based applications, the drying tunnel is manufactured as a single passage unit.

LAMINATING GROUP: The laminating group mainly consists of:

1 x Laminator group – No 2 Unwind unit – Rewinding unit

The lamination nip is made between the laminating cylinder and the rubber pressure

cylinder. The laminator has a chrome plated steel cylinder heated / cooled via water

circulation with a thermal regulating system. The lamination cylinder is driven by an AC motor and controlled by AC vector digital drive.
