Helping to protect the future with new European conferences

Working Without WasteA new conference roadshow is launching next month – called Working Without Waste – specifically aimed at those in the label printing and converting sectors.

Working Without Waste brings together a group of key suppliers – so far including A B Graphic International, Avery Dennison, AVT, Flint, GEW, GSE and Martin Automatic – to the label industry in an effort to resolve the main sources of waste in the industry.

November kicks off a European-wide roadshow consisting of a series of educational conferences with presentations from each member company on how to minimise waste by choosing appropriate equipment and work practices.

With two taking place next month, and the rest early next year, each conference event will be held in a different city in conjunction with another label industry convention or exhibition also being held at the same time.

Working Without Waste started out as an initiative at UV curing equipment manufacturer, GEW. The company found that energy efficient UV systems with electronic power supplies can reduce energy consumption by as much as 50 per cent. Together with the other group members of the roadshow, they will show that the effective use of machinery and resources is a key element in the overall reduction of energy and material consumption and can be a contributing factor in considerable productivity increases.

All presentation (followed by questions and answer) sessions will be in the language of the host country, with the exception of the international event in Amsterdam, which will be in English.

The first roadshow stop will be in Heidelberg, Germany, on Thursday, November 5 2015, taking place at the Heidelberg Marriott Hotel before the VskE Autumn Conference that evening.

Company managing directors, production managers, print supervisors, press operators, purchasing managers and quality assurance managers are all encouraged to attend these events. There is no charge for printing and converting professionals, but advanced registration is advised.

The following roadshow dates are:

11 November 2015, Novotel Viale Suzzani, Milan, Italy
