Larkbeare enhances cutting capabilities with new Baumann-Wohlenberg 115

Larkbeare Services has upgraded its cutting capabilities with the installation of a Baumann-Wohlenberg 115 high-speed cutter, supplied by UK & Ireland agent Friedheim International.

Larkbeare managing director, Neil Oakley, said: “We get a lot of pressure on our cutting facilities for our Wiro-O binding and realised that it was time to replace one of our existing Wohlenberg machines with a newer version. We have been satisfied with the reliability and production capabilities of our existing Wohlenberg cutters so our thought process was to purchase another Wohlenberg to provide consistency.”

Larkbeare Services is based near Exeter in Devon, UK and since its formation in 1982 the company has tripled the size of its site, which now totals 30,000 sq ft. Larkbeare offers a wide range of finishing services, including PUR binding, Wiro-O binding, metal and plastic Spiral binding, as well as folding, stitching and trimming.

“In order to match the enhanced capabilities of the new Wohlenberg cutter, we are storing all job specifications on a USB stick and using this on our existing machine,” added Oakley. “As a result we are able to interchange from one cutter to the other if required, and this provides even greater flexibility!”
