KM Packaging Services, international developer and supplier of food packaging solutions, has made a racing start to 2016 with the appointment of two new senior members of staff, John Shipley as business development manager and Nigel Down as technical services manager.
Between them, John and Nigel bring over five decades of experience in the packaging sector to KM’s highly skilled team. Taking over responsibility for some existing UK and export customers, John will also help to grow the business internationally. John has particular experience in film and pouch conversion for FMCG markets across Northern Europe, which will support KM’s on-going growth in these sectors, especially in the development of pre-made pouches.
Nigel has joined KM’s team to provide technical support to the company’s sales team and its customers, with particular focus on new product development and applications. Previous roles have helped Nigel to hone his expertise in lidding film, retort laminates and pouches on both research and commercial sides of the fence.
KM director, Charles Smithson, commented: “Both John and Nigel were attracted to KM’s extensive product portfolio and especially our reputation for a technically-focused approach to global markets, and we are delighted to add their expertise to our team. KM is constantly investing in new product innovation; John and Nigel’s significant combination of commercial experience is already impacting positively on KM’s development programme and we can’t wait to see how their input will enable us to make the most of new opportunities going forward.”
KM Packaging is constantly investing in new technologies and flexible packaging solutions. The company’s experience and commitment to rapid turnaround means that it can meet demand for both high volume orders and also fast delivery on short-run seasonal products.
