Jarshire/Dotec at PPMA Total Show 2016

At the PPMA Total Show, taking place on September 27-29, 2016, at the NEC Birmingham, specialist supplier of converting, packaging and printing equipment since 1979, Jarshire, will be highlighting and demonstrating handling equipment from Dotec BV, a dedicated manufacturer whose product portfolio has been designed around the principle of efficiency with safety.

The showcase item will be the recently-introduced Dotec Roll Handler Quick Change Concept. This will allow rolls, ranging from 15kg to 200kg, to be processed quickly and easily from one machine when differing weights and different reel sizes need to be processed. Utilising a fast coupling system, lighter roll handlers can be installed within just one minute. This concept is space saving and reduces operating costs.

A system of lifting and turning of reels will also be shown, where visitors can try and see how easy the Dotec system is to operate.

Jarshire’s comprehensive range of operator-friendly products also includes the Moviroll Roll/Reel pusher from Renova. Demonstrations will show how effortlessly an operator can manoeuvre both large and small cylindrical loads on a flat surface and then place them on the roll stand or shuttle cart. Two models are available, battery and pneumatic, each with two different handle configurations, making Moviroll ideal for handling paper, tissue and converting rolls in a simple and safe manner.

Espo knife-holders are an integral part of Jarshire’s range. Espo utilises advanced cutting technology leading to easy and functional in-line integration to all existing winders, slitters, sheeters and web processing machines, no matter the substrate. Features include a quick and highly accurate positioning system, and reliable and operator-friendly operation for all styles of slitting, from shear, razor or crush cut. High quality steels are used in top and bottom blades to suit customers’ applications and provide a long life.

Similarly, offering user-friendly operation, lightweight airshafts from Svecom facilitate efficient insertion and withdrawal of the shaft from the reels thereby increasing production through quicker reel changes. The Svecom shaft will centre cores; run concentric and faster than competitive products; carry more reel weight; has greater gripping power and will cope with reused or worn cores.

Then, when damaged cores are a problem, waste can be reduced with a Jarshire pneumatically-operated Reelsaver. Its tapered jaws are inserted into old or damaged three, six or eight-inch ID cores and expanded to return the core to its original shape. Packaging material that once had to be put aside because of damage to cores sustained during transit or on-site handling can now be back in the production stream within minutes. Hundreds of companies have benefitted over a 20-year period.
