Jaffabox wins prestigious award

Birmingham-based Jaffabox has scooped the prestigious SME Company of the Year Award at the UK Packaging Awards 2012.

Regarded as the primary awards event in the UK packaging industry the awards recognise every area of the packaging supply chain. The 20 categories focus on packaging quality, consistency, business strategy, financial performance and environmental impact. The judging process is strictly impartial and the team of experienced judges hail from diverse organisations including Asda, Kingfisher/B&Q, Marks & Spencer, Morrisons, Packaging Federation, Proctor & Gamble, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Unilever and Waitrose.
“Although our origins date back to 1946 we are a modern and forward-looking company,” comments chairman Frank Amyes. “Our ethos has always been to produce quality products delivered on time at a competitive price. We also focus on environmental concerns: our premises near Birmingham International Airport include the most up to date waste handling system. This ensures that all cardboard waste is collected for recycling, dust particles are removed and during winter the warm purified air is piped back into the building to reduce the overall energy required for heating the building. These are all factors that helped us win the award.”
