IST METZ extends facilities

On the site of Fabrikstrasse in Nuertingen-Zizishausen a new building is being constructed. Company founder Gerhard Metz turned the first spadeful of earth at today’s groundbreaking ceremony.

It is almost tradition: since IST METZ moved from Wolfschlugen to Zizishausen in 1985, digger and construction machines have marched out to Nuertingen’s industrial area for the 10th time. At the beginning of this year the extension of the building of the subsidiary eta plus electronic had just been finished. As a result its production area has doubled. Now there will be constructed a new building in Fabrikstrasse opposite of subsidiary gerhard metz metallbau.

The building in Fabrikstrasse 8 was purchased in 2006 from Kiener and used as a warehouse for IST METZ Group. As all signals point to growth thanks to a pleasant order situation, the old building was torn down and the construction of a new larger building has begun. Architecture firm Klein Sommer Camuti has been charged with the planning once again. It has designed all the other IST buildings and will now once again bank on energy-efficiency on the basis of the latest standards.

After completion of the three-storey building in early 2015, S1 Optics and parts of gerhard metz metallbau will move into the building and enlarge their production area. The approximately 4,900 square metres will also be used by IST METZ.
