Global printing industry leader Inkcups’ senior project engineer and industry veteran Ian Bedford will present at the GlassPrint 2019 Conference, November 27, 2019, in Düsseldorf, Germany.
His presentation, “Direct-to-Cylinder: Digital Printing on Glassware,” will explore new glass decoration trends, different machine types and capabilities, and pre-treatment methods. The presentation will highlight that while choosing the correct machine is important, understanding adhesion standards and compliance requirements is paramount. Ian will address which ASTM adhesion method is best for glass as well as methods required and optional for compliance testing.
Inkcups is also showcasing select technologies in the tabletop exhibition area, including glass pre-treatment MagiCoat; flagship digital printer Helix®; and the newly introduced Revolution, a high-speed digital cylinder printer.
Ian Bedford has worked in the digital printing and product marking field for 34 years with a focus on digital direct-to-product decoration and packaging. His background includes promotional product imprinting, offset, pre-press, electrical engineering, automation, lasers, and digital technologies. For the past 15 years he has worked at Inkcups, specializing in sales, R&D and new product development as Senior Project Engineer.
The GlassPrint 2019 Conference is Europe’s only event dedicated to glass decoration. The program is supplemented by a tabletop exhibition area where vendors display the latest developments in inks, pre-press technology, printing equipment and supplies.
