GOEBEL upgrades most successful slitter rewinder rapid-dI

At the ICE 2013, GOEBEL will present its latest developments on the GOEBEL rapid-dI slitter rewinder, a machine with centre winding on a rewind shaft. The machine is used for processing paper, cardboard and packaging materials as well as for the aluminium foil sector and processes all materials that are suitable for rewinding on just one rewind shaft or for “block” winding due to their structure.

The GOEBEL rapid-dI is one of the world’s most renowned slitter rewinders and has been built over 2,500 times in a variety of designs. Essential elements of the machine have now been upgraded, such as the shaftless unwind unit attached directly to the machine which is loaded by means of a lifting table, a web control unit based on edge or printing line that uses optical detection, a motor-adjustable spreader roller, a pneumatically pivoting (in and out) top cutter shaft as well as a direct rewind shaft drive and an ejector unit for finished rolls. The removal of finished rolls with an unloading carriage, simple and user-friendly handling of the rewind shafts as well as an appropriately designed machine cover that corresponds to the latest safety regulations are all part of the new machine concept. Like all GOEBEL slitter rewinders, the GOEBEL rapid-dl is equipped with state-of-the-art control technology and user-driven touch panel operation.

The essential elements in the GOEBEL rapid concept were of course maintained in all measures undertaken to upgrade the machine: the shortest possible available web travel within the machine and well-managed material web between the slitting section and rewind unit. GOEBEL’s slitting and winding quality that has been appreciated for many years and the associated simple separation of finished rolls is supported by these measures through the use of GOEBEL slitting tools. Quality features, such as perfect slitting edges and an optimum rewind structure are guaranteed even when processing the thinnest of materials, such as cigarette and filter papers, and also at high running speeds. The machine is therefore virtually unsurpassed if minimal tolerances are required between the printing and slitting.

In addition to the “new” GOEBEL rapid-dl, the GOEBEL team will also present at this year’s exhibition the very latest information on the entire GOEBEL slitter rewinder range and the many further upgrades and new developments that the company has recently made.
