Flexo Concepts and fellow flexo suppliers have banded together to showcase product advancements at Labelexpo Europe 2017, Brussels, September 25-28.
The project has arisen from a collaboration between Esko, Flexo Concepts, Harper, MacDermid, Siegwerk, Raflatac, Dirty Water Distillery and Clemson’s Sonoco Institute of Packaging.
This year, the group produced a bottle label featuring five colour-modified process printing, metallic ink, custom die lines and high-quality print.
The label was printed at the Sonoco Institute of Packaging on an OMET VaryFlex 530 press and utilised UV Flexo L39-5 inks from Siegwerk; TruPoint Orange doctor blades from Flexo Concepts; a Konsberg digital cutter from Esko; 1200-line screen aniloxes from Harper; Digital Rave printing plates from MacDermid exposed on Esko’s new Crystal XPS System; and Vanish label stock from Raflatac.
Dirty Water Distillery provided bottles of honey liqueur from its micro-distillery located in the heart of Flexo Concepts’ hometown, Plymouth, Massachusetts. The liqueur is handcrafted with local honey and a variety of spices to provide a cordial for visitors to taste at Labelexpo Europe.
Suppliers will be offering tastings of ‘Bee Sting’ honey liqueur and showcasing the label at Labelexpo on the following stands:
