Double R Henderson Ltd.
This year’s ICE Europe 2011 Exhibition heralds the beginning of a new chapter in the life of two of the UK’s best known web converting machinery manufacturers. Double R Controls Ltd. and Henderson Engineering Ltd., who between them have over 60 years experience in the supply of machinery to the trade, are merging to form a new company called Double R Henderson Ltd. and the new company will form part of the Double R group of companies.
What started as an initial discussion on how the two companies could share resources for their mutual benefit, quickly developed into a realisation that whilst both companies had extensive experience and expertise in related fields of web converting machinery, there was very little crossover in the various machinery that each company specialise in. This fact meant it became inevitable that the discussions turned to a possible merger, which would be of mutual benefit to both companies.
The new company will be known as Double R Henderson Ltd. and will focus on the machinery market currently served by Henderson Engineering Ltd. Graeme Jones will become the managing director of the newly formed company, whilst Neal Rothwell will continue as managing director of the Double R group.
The newly formed group will have an extensive range of equipment supply including bobbin winding, slitter rewinds, embossing machinery, holographic production equipment, coating/laminating equipment and special purpose equipment, to name but a few.
It should also be noted that no existing employees will lose their employment due to the merger as all Henderson Engineering Ltd. employees will transfer to the Double R headquarters, which is located only 15 minutes drive from the Henderson Engineering Ltd. current location.
