DataLase sales director retires

In a career spanning 50 years in the ink industry, DataLase’s Mike Toner, has recently announced his retirement from his position as sales director at the Cheshire-based firm.

Having first joined DataLase in 2016 as new business development manager for Europe, Mr Toner’s previous experience included various technical sales roles in the ink industry, with over 20 years at both Aarberg Druckfarben (Swiss) and global ink manufacturer SICPA. A former printer, with extensive knowledge of the packaging industry having previously worked in a range of sectors including food and drink and pharmaceuticals, Mr Toner has seen many technological changes during his career, ranging from the introduction of the very first UV offset litho ink to the UK, to the ground-breaking photonic printing solutions at DataLase.

Commenting on his career, Mr Toner said: “I’ve witnessed and been part of a fast-moving industry that has taken giant leaps forward in terms of technology over the years. My time spent latterly with DataLase has been highly rewarding given the uniqueness of the solution. It has been particularly enjoyable to develop new markets and launch new products and I wish the company the very best of success in the future.”

Moving to a new home in the Mediterranean with his wife, Mr Toner looks forward to a warmer climate, with plenty of opportunities for children and grandchildren to visit.

Paul Dustain, DataLase’s CSMO, added: “On behalf of everyone at DataLase, I thank Mike for his knowledgeable contribution to the business. We wish him a long and healthy retirement.”
