The Manel Xifra Boada Technological Centre expands its training offer for 2017. The Comexi CTec will offer next year a new Advanced Lamination course in German and a Slitting course in English, as well as a new Gravure course in Spanish.
Every year, and as a part of its training sessions, the Comexi CTec programs around 20 courses for clients concerning different issues related to the different phases in flexible packaging converting, thus enhancing clients’ knowledge and improving competitiveness in their companies.
The Comexi CTec’s director, David Centelles, stressed that: “We are firmly committed to training and our aim is to become the driving force of knowledge in the flexible packaging sector.” In that sense, Centelles emphasised “constant training is a key element for our clients so they can strengthen the leadership of their businesses.”
Next year, the Comexi CTec will release a new Lamination course in German. It will be the first time that this course, which is also offered in Spanish and in English, will be held in German in order to reach more of Comexi’s clients. Just like the Spanish and English editions, which will also be held in 2017, it will be organised as a three-day course with the aim to learn in depth principles of lamination, adhesives, films most used in the process and solutions to solve the most frequent problems, as well as practical sessions to explore the laminator’s capabilities.
New Slitting course in English
Furthermore, in 2017, a new Advanced Slitting course in English will also be released. The first edition of this course, in Spanish, was held in 2016; due to the success of this initiative, the Center has decided to program a new edition of this course in Spanish, and for the first time an English edition, for next year.
During the two-day course, attendees will have the opportunity to gain practical and theoretical knowledge on the main elements that form a slitter, as well as its functions, technical features and capabilities, considering different kinds of web materials. Furthermore, the training will include proposals of productivity and efficiency studies based on the configuration criteria and the type of cut. Moreover, the course will also deal with market trends in slitting and rewinding.
In addition to these new courses, the Comexi CTec training offer for 2017 will include for the first time an Advanced Gravure Printing course as well as courses in Flexographic Printing, Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Standardisation for Flexographic Printing, along with Technical Colour seminars.
Comexi includes the Manel Xifra Boada Technological Center, which provides support and transfers its knowledge to the various agents involved in the flexible packaging industry process. Since its foundation four years ago, nearly 600 professionals have been trained with the Comexi CTec courses. The University of Girona accredits all sessions as specialisation courses with a diploma.
