Blown film investment
PACKAGING COATINGS specialist Exopack has invested in a new Evolution three-layer blown film line from Reifenhäuser Kiefel Extrusion to handle the increased demand for specialized packaging bags.
The line is equipped with Reifenhäuser’s latest cooling technology and auto-profile system.
“The Reifenhäuser Kiefel Extrusion line was a perfect fit for our Thomasville manufacturing platform and will allow us to continue to support and grow with our customers,” says Bob Arvanites, senior vice president and general manager Performance Packaging.
The Evolution control system with its large touch screen is said to be simple and easily comprehensible in order to operate, reduce changeover times, minimize the amount of waste and to provide assistance in case of maintenance and troubleshooting. Besides an intuitive and operating control system, the process control system is an important module to help reduce start-up and job change over times and minimize waste.
The line is equipped with an Evolution W-S surface winder that offers precision tuning capabilities for extremely low winding tensions and lay-on pressures W-S surface winder that offers precision tuning capabilities for extremely low winding tensions and lay-on pressures.
