Award for cheese ripening polyamide

DSM’s revolutionary Pack-Age has been awarded Bronze in packaging innovation contest De Gouden Noot. Pack-Age allows hard to semi-hard cheeses to be ripened naturally.

Akulon polyamide 6 produces a film with high mechanical strength and provides an excellent barrier against oxygen, moisture and CO2. It delivers just enough moisture to the cheese, resulting in a naturally ripened cheese with a mature taste and firm texture while protection against mold growth on the surface results in a higher productivity and lower food waste.
