Autobox Machinery acquires Andrew & Suter
Autobox Machinery has acquired a 100% shareholding in box gluing machinery specialist Andrew & Suter (A&S). With origins dating back more than 100 years, A&S manufactures corrugated and cardboard box folder gluers supplied to the box industry around the world and known for their ease of setting and flexibility to produce straight line and multi-point gluing.
The acquisition follows a successful 2011 when sales increased by 50% with exports accounting for 70% of turnover. The launch of new box making machines following an extensive R&D programme contributed to the success.
“Being able to acquire an established manufacturer like Andrew & Suter with a product range that complements the Autobox machines provides us with an opportunity to substantially grow the combined businesses,” says Barry Tabor, managing director of Autobox Machinery. “Both companies have skills and experience that can benefit each other. We look forward to developing the A&S business and maintaining the level of after sales service for which it is renowned.”
